How is it like in the interior cabins of a cruise ship?

My family wants to go on a cruise (7 days), and since we're so late in buying, the only cabins left are interior cabins. Is it bad at all in interior cabins? Thanks in advance!

  1. THey are very small. There are 3 of us in my family and we spend almost no time n our cabin so we almost always go for the inside. We would rather save the difference and put it toward excursions. IF there are more than three you may want to consider getting 2 cabins.
  2. You're asleep most of the time that you're in your cabin and being in the middle means that there is less motion than in the outside cabins.
  3. Interior cabins are a little smaller, but not all that much. They are very dark once you turn off the lights. I would recommend taking a night light so you won't bump into things in the middle of the night if you have to get up. I have stayed in interior cabins and didn't mind it. Since you will probably only be in your room to clean up or to sleep it shouldn't be a problem. I have stayed in balcony rooms, rooms with an ocean view and interior rooms. To me the main point of a cruise is to stay out of the cabin and enjoy all the ship has to offer. Happy Cruising!
  4. The interior cabins are not smaller then a balcony or a ocean view, they just feel smaller without a window or balcony. But they put mirrors in them to make them feel more spacious and bright. Bringing a night light is a good idea, or like many, they just leave one light on at night(it's pitch black without a light). I prefer at least an ocean view with a balcony as my favorite. But an interior room is a good value and just fine, especially if you do not spend much time in the cabin. Now, go an have a wonderful cruise.
  5. I have stayed in interior cabins, and cabins with windows. I'm leaving on a cruise next week, and I'll be taking an interior cabin. I have never missed the window. I'm rarely in the room, except to sleep, dress, bathe, etc. When you do have a window, all you can see is water. I'd be more concerned with the size of the room, and how many people will be sleeping in the room. Many people don't mind 4 in a room. I can't tolerate more than 2 in a room. I do know people who feel claustrophobic in a room without a window. If you're one of them, it might present a problem. They do put a mirror, where the window should be. If you wake up during the night, you will not know whether it's day or night. I take along a traveling alarm clock, and a small flashlight, as well as a night light. In the morning, if you put on the TV, it will tell you what the weather is outside, so you'll know how to dress. Although, you can find that out when you go for breakfast, and change if you have to. Whatever, when you look back at the cruise, the room will be insignificant. So take what they have, and have a wonderful time.
  6. the only problem I had is that I would wake up and think it's still nighttime when it could very well be 9AM I only shared my cabin with one other person so there weren't any space issues or claustrophobia I only went to my cabin like 4 times a day anyways. just to go to the bathroom and of course to sleep at night, it's a vacation why spend it in your cabin all day?
  7. Not bad but cramped. You will not spend too much time in your cabin.
  8. Depends on the cruise ship that you will be taking the cruise and also how many persons will be in the same cabin There are ships that have inside cabins quite big ones and other that have small cabins It is different to be just two persons in a cabin than three or four persons. You will have to check the location of the cabin - it is different to stay in an inside cabin located at the lower deck and different to have an inside cabin located in upper deck If you can find an inside cabin in upper deck is much better. I believe that it is better to see the deck plan of the ship and the ship and cabin specifications before you make your decision
  9. Very comfortable. Also smoother if the sea is rocking & rolling since the cabin will be near the center board. Many people prefer the inner cabins for that reason.
  10. I stayed in an inside cabin my first cruise, but I prefer a cabin with a balcony. You can get fresh air into your room and sit on your own private deck.
  11. My family of four just booked our next cruise and we booked two interior rooms, two people to a room. Our last cruise we booked one balcony room and although seeing the ocean out the window was great, we ended up spening too much time in the room. We wanted an interior room so that we'd be encouraged to get out and about more. There is nothing wrong with having an interior room, its cheaper, less motion and you have the entire ship to enjoy the views of the ocean. Have fun on your cruise!
  12. No it is not bad in interior cabins. All you will do in the cabin is sleep and the rest of the time you will be enjoying yourself in another location of the ship. the cabin does not play a major role in the cruising experience.
